April — Special in-depth conversation with Anthony LeDonne about my new novel PRETEND PLUMBER

Hello friends!

What a spiritually resonant week this is, as folx navigate Ramadan, Easter and Passover all at the same time! Because of this convergence, my wonderful friend Anthony and I thought this might be the perfect time to record and share a conversation about spirituality and Jewishness in my new novel Pretend Plumber, now available for preorder from your favorite bookstore.

Pretend Plumber is a comic novel for sure, but as Anthony has rightly surmised, it is also a book about a spiritual journey.

Let me tell you a little about Anthony. He is an expert on the Historical Jesus and a scholar in Jewish-Christian dialogue. He is one of the smartest, and yet least pretentious people I know. That’s why I’m so honored that he read my book and wanted to talk with me about it.

In this video, we talk about alot of stuff: A Pilgrim’s Progress, Judaism versus Jewishness, comedy, westerns, and magical realism are just a few of them. Please listen in as we talk about why fiction matters, and how a quest for for one thing, may turn into a quest for meaning — the biggest quest of all. Enjoy and have a beautiful week, whether or not you observe a holiday during this time.
